DC area forecast: A thankfully sunny Thanksgiving before a chance of rain on Friday and Sunday

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather on a scale of 0 to 10.

9/10: We won’t worry about the weather if we work ourselves out on this holiday.

  • Today: Mostly sunny. Heights: 55-60.
  • This evening: become cloudy. Lows: 40-46.
  • Morning: Mostly cloudy with showers. Heights: 54-59.

Perfectly comfortable Thanksgiving weather graces the Washington area today thanks to a hearty slice of letterpress. But as attention turns to the holiday shopping season, the first of two weather systems for Friday arrives. Sandwiched between the two systems is a pleasant Saturday. Then on Sunday comes the second storm system with more rain.

Today (Thursday): Mostly sunny and slightly warmer than normal with highs in the mid 50’s to close to 60’s. Very light and variable winds are also comfortable, there just aren’t any real weather excuses not to get outside and burn off excess calories. Confidence: High

This evening: Clouds will increase ahead of the first weather system but it should remain dry overnight as lows reach into the 40’s. Light winds from the south. Confidence: High
