Remember the rumor that Henry Cavill is getting his own Superman TV series? Well, new DC boss James Gunn has finally responded, and he hasn’t held back on his words. Fans were left in shock after it was confirmed that the Enola Holmes 2 actor is returning to his DC role.

He had a small cameo in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Since then, Henry is said to be in another movie, reportedly Man of Steel 2. Another rumor has it that he’s set to appear in DCU TV shows. However, Gunn is here to put a stop to that speculation.

James Gunn took to his Twitter to respond to a report of Henry Cavill Superman’s alleged TV appearances. The Guardians of the Galaxy director explained that while he doesn’t know where they got their information from, he made it crystal clear that nobody knows what’s happening at DC Studios right now. James also said the only people who would know that Cavill has contracts on projects are him and his co-CEO Peter Safran.

“I’m not sure if you’re lying on purpose or being taken advantage of by someone who’s lying to you, but as I’ve said here, NOBODY knows what’s happening at DC Studios right now except me and Peter. That would involve writing new contracts for anyone at that point,” James Gunn said while clearing speculation about Henry Cavill’s Superman on a TV series.

While discussing Cavill’s deal with DC, it is said that things are still uncertain. Although he returned in the most recent DCEU entry, talks are still ongoing over his contract. The Mission Impossible actor has yet to sign the dotted lines.

Hopefully James Gunn or another DC exec will clear things up as DC fans have high expectations for the return of Henry Cavill’s Superman.
