The Doom Patrol season 4 first look trailer teases the classic DC villain

HBO Max has unveiled the official trailer for Doom Patrol‘s upcoming fourth season, and she teases a whole new threat to the mismatched band of superheroes.

“Something very big and very dangerous is coming,” warns Willoughby Kipling (Mark Sheppard). “Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We wander into the literal end of days as we speak.”

While it remains unclear what exactly the Immortus Project is, it could have something to do with General Immortus, a classic DC supervillain who first appeared as a Doom Patrol enemy in the 1960s.

The trailer also gives fans a first taste I have never Star Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mr. 104, a charming biochemist who has the ability to transform his body into any element of his choosing.

He joins a star-studded cast including Brendan Fraser (who plays Cliff Steele), Riley Shanahan (The Brain), Diane Guerrero (Jane), Matt Bomer (Larry Trainor), Matthew Zuk (Negative Man), April Bowlby, Joivan Wade (Cyborg), Skye Roberts (Kay Challis) and Michelle Gomez (Laura De Mille).

Bowlby, Bomer and Fraser reprise their roles from the series Titansalthough the two shows are set in separate continuities.

The official HBO synopsis reads: “Season 4 begins with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise.

“Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world?”

The first two episodes of Doom Patrol Season 4 premiered on HBO Max on December 8th. One episode will then premiere weekly through January 5, with six more episodes scheduled for release in 2023.
