I was fined for ‘indecent exposure’ while out with my children despite being fully dressed – people are outraged

A Louisiana resident has revealed she was fined for indecent exposure while fully clothed – and people are outraged.

Casey said that at the time of the incident, any “indecent” areas were covered by her crop top and shorts.

“I got a f***ing ticket for indecent exposure in Winnfield, Louisiana,” Casey shared in a June TikTok video that has since been viewed 2.7 million times.

She spun around to show off her simple outfit – a black crop top that ties at the back paired with distressed denim shorts.

“All my parts are covered,” she pointed out.

She continued: “At a family event where alcohol is literally being given out for free. Three policewomen came up to me and gave me a damn ticket.

“I live a mile down the road. You could literally just say, ‘Hey ma’am, could you put some clothes on?’

“And I would have said ‘cool, I’ll be right back.’ But no, they stood there and gave me a damn ticket for indecent exposure. Are you kidding me?”

In a separate video, she revealed more details about what happened that day.

Apparently she was at a festival on an extremely hot day, sitting at the curb with her family.

She had her ex-husband, her husband and their two children with her.

“We’re just sitting there enjoying the band when I look over and see three policewomen walking my way,” she shared.

“I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

At that point, the police officers stopped her and said they wanted to talk to her. She obeyed, got up and spoke to them.

One of them told her they would give her a subpoena. When Casey asked why the cop was just gesturing at her and said, “Look at you.”

The police officer clarified that the subpoena was for indecent disclosure.

Surprised, Casey suggested that she could just go home and change, but the police officer disagreed.

Casey started asking questions: “Why am I being quoted? All my parts are covered. Every part of me is covered. I’ve seen teenagers walking around in less, just five minutes ago, in less than me.”

And when her husband and ex-husband came to her defense, the cops apparently told them to stay out of it.

At this point, Casey felt embarrassed.

She explained: “Anyone who really knows me knows that I’ve never worn anything like this in public, literally never. I’m usually the one who covers everything.

“But it was hot, I was like, you know what, I feel good in it, so I decided to wear it. The first day I wear something revealing, I get quoted for it.”

She further explained that indecent exposure is actually a criminal offense in Louisiana.

Feeling like she wasn’t wrong, Casey plans not to take the situation lightly.

She explained: “So I’m looking for representation right now to try to fight this because it sucks and we all know it sucks. And I’m not gonna take it

“I’m not just going to sit there and just have it thrown out. No, I want justice. I want that to be heard. I am tired of them abusing their power.”

People in her comments section were strongly on her side, very upset with the police officer’s actions.

“Those cops were just jealous… smh. I think you look beautiful,” wrote one.

“It’s Louisiana, it’s going to be hot and muggy. What else to wear?” added another.

“Sounds like internalized misogyny to me,” said a third.

“What the heck is that middle school dress code???”

“That’s naughty exposure in LOUISIANA?!?! Have you ever gone to Walmart?”

“I would post the officer’s name and call a sergeant with that information because they have body cameras and can pull that. Also sue [the department] for damages,” suggested a final person.
