ULM Men’s Golf signs three for 2023-24

MONROE, LA- ULM Director of Golf and Head Men’s Golf Coach Tim Baldwin announced the signing of three student-athletes for the 2023-24 season.

Octave Bailo, Ylan Guerin Pozzalo and Louis Anceaux have all signed with the Warhawk golf program in the first week of the November signing period.

Bailo: “I chose the ULM because the university program suits me perfectly. I hope to bring my best level of golf to the team for the best possible results. I can’t wait to get started.

Baldwin: “Octave has a fundamentally healthy golf swing with good speed. As his short game continues to improve, he will be a mainstay in our line-up. He has four top five finishes this year and a +2.9 handicap.”

Pozzalo: “I chose ULM Golf to continue my progress in a great training environment. Coach Baldwin’s speech really won me over. The tournament program is very ambitious. I look forward to competing against the best amateurs and winning titles my fellow players.”

Baldwin: “Ylan is an exceptional player with several top five finishes this year including a win in the Grand Prix Ligue AURE championship with 137 (69-68) shooting. He also finished fourth at the Swiss Golf International Amateur Championship with 279 shooting (74-72-65-68). He currently has a +3.9 handicap and is ranked 519th in the world according to the SPWAGR rankings. Ylan has the ability to go deep and make a lot of birdies.

Anceaux: “I am very pleased to announce that I will be joining the ULM men’s golf team. I am very excited to be part of the team for 2023 because I believe that together we can achieve great things. The team will help me to be the best version of myself. I hope to help the team as much as possible to reach the top.”

Baldwin: “Louis is a very solid player. He is very consistent, as evidenced by his numerous top 5 results. He is ranked 298th in the world by SPWAGR and 498th by WAGR. 69) and reached the semi-finals of the British Boys Golf Championship. He won the Grand Prix de Mergines championship with 216 (69-73-74). Louis is the top-ranked France U-18 player, third-ranked France U-21 player and 11th Europe U-18 player by EGR.
