Hudson Theater Works presents its annual 10 Minute Play Festival benefit


(WEEHAWKEN, NJ) – Hudson Theater Works presents two benefit performances of its annual 10 Minute Play Festival benefiting the theater company. This year features new plays written by some of our most celebrated playwrights including J. John Patrick Shanley, Richard Vetere, Barbara Blatner, Joanne Hoersch, Zach Weed, Lenny Horst and Sarah T. Schwab. The performances will take place on Friday and Saturday 9th and 10th December at 20:00.


At the Broadway Theater of Pitman’s 2023 season

Hairspray is coming to the Count Basie Center for the Arts


(RED BANK, NJ) – The National Tour of Hairspray is coming to the Count Basie Center for the Arts on November 28th and 29th at 7:30 p.m. Hairspray, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical comedy phenomenon, is back on tour! Set in 1960’s Baltimore, join 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad as she sets out to dance her way into TV’s most popular show. Can a girl with big dreams (and even bigger hair) change the world?



It’s time for The Wag’s Christmas extravaganza


(LAKEWOOD, NJ) — When it’s December, it must be time for The Wag’s Christmas Spectacular! This year they have performances at The Strand in Lakewood and the Middletown Arts Center. Nothing beats a good old-fashioned Christmas special, and The Wag’s Christmas Spectacular is just that!

Imperial Brass presents “Christmas Rejoicing” in Westfield and Morristown


(WESTFIELD, NJ) – Imperial Brass presents “Christmas Rejoicing” in Westfield and Morristown this December. Each performance includes holiday favorites like Farandole, Sleigh Ride, Trepak and White Christmas, marching band arrangements of Christmas carols – and a sing-along.


Ocean County Library Announces Concert Series Featuring Classical Singers Dakota & Elle


(TOMS RIVER, NJ) – The Ocean County Library has announced a concert series by Ocean County classical singers Dakota & Elle. The tenor-soprano duo will be performing in six branches through early February.



Free Introductory Greek Dance Workshop with the Hellenic Dancers of NJ


(HOLMDEL, NJ) – Kick off the holiday season with the Hellenic Dancers of NJ at a FREE “Intro to Greek Dance Workshop” on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Church , 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, New Jersey. No previous experience is required and all dance levels are welcome to this family-friendly event! Registration by email is required.



Kalaya’s next chapter in Philly


(PHILADELPHIA, PA) – Approximately nine months after breaking ground, Chutatip “Nok” Suntaranon and her partners are ready to open the doors of their sprawling new Kalaya at 4 West Palmer Street between Frankford Avenue and Front Street in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood . Inspired by and named after Suntaranon’s mother, the restaurant begins with dinner on Tuesday 29th November.



Visual Arts Center of New Jersey receives several grants


(SUMMIT, NJ) — The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) recently received multiple grants from multiple donors, demonstrating VACNJ’s ongoing commitment to empowering people to see, make, and learn about art . The grants awarded to the arts center were:


Events in December at the Lewis Center for the Arts


Princeton Dance Festival; Play presented by the Lewis Center for the Arts Program in Theatre; Cyberfeminism Index: Book Reading and Conversation; Reading by Raven Leilani and Creative Writing Seniors; Media Arts Show presented by the Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Visual Arts; and the Fall Student Reading presented by the Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Creative Writing


Monmouth County Signs Service Agreement With Belford Ferry; Seastreak will begin providing services on December 5th


(FREEHOLD, NJ) – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners announced that it has entered into an agreement with Seastreak to offer ferry service between the Belford Ferry Terminal and Manhattan beginning December 5, 2022.


Ramapo Alumna Says Thank You to Veterans with Help from Students


A few years ago, 15-year-old Ramapo College of New Jersey graduate Cara Daniello was on an unclear career path, so she took a job at an Applebee’s restaurant near where she lives. She had a shift during the restaurant’s tradition of handing out free meals to those who served in the US armed forces on Veterans Day.



National Book Award winner Terrance Hayes reads at Warren County Community College


(WASHINGTON, NJ) – The Warren County Community College Guest Author Series continues on Tuesday, December 6 with a reading and master class by poet Terrance Hayes. The reading begins at 7:30 p.m. in room 123A and is open to the public and free of charge.
