• The county of Monmouth Park System is hosting Under the Winter Stars on December 1st from 7-8pm at the Sunnyside Equestrian Centre, Lincroft. Meet at the Sunnyside Road parking lot. Search for key objects and constellations in the night sky with a park system naturalist. Bring a camp chair and a flashlight. • The county of Monmouth Park System is sponsoring a bus ride to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York City on December 9th. The bus departs Thompson Park, Lincroft at 1pm and returns around 10pm. Cost is $175 per person and includes orchestra seating, bus transportation, and a parking system guide. • The county of Monmouth The Retired Educators Association celebrates the holiday December 13 at 11 am at the Molly Pitcher Inn, 88 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. Members are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation to the table. The association also collects unwrapped children’s toys, books or gift cards for Bridges At The Shore. • The county of Monmouth Park System presents No More Grist for the Mill on November 27 from 11am to 3pm at Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold Township.
Celebrate the end of mill season and the start of the holidays as the mill grinds the last corn of the year. Decorate a paper stocking, take a selfie in a sleigh, and sip a cup of hot cocoa in the early 20th-century cowshed. Then explore our 18th century house and see the flour mill in action. Free. • Made the holiday The Monmouth event will be held on December 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Robert J. Collins Arena on the Brookdale Community College campus, Route 520, Lincroft.

• Pigeon hospice services from New Jersey is seeking volunteers willing to make a difference with people facing the challenge of end-of-life. Volunteers devote a small amount of time each month to offering fellowship-friendly visits; Playing cards; sewing, knitting or craft projects; musical enrichment; pet therapy; and clerical or administrative assistance. Dove Hospice Services is also looking for veterans interested in providing compassion, support, and outreach to other veterans and their families. Visits can be made to people living in institutions or private homes. Ongoing training is offered. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and a COVID vaccine is required. • Women of color The discussion group is an online meeting held once a month (third Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.) to discuss issues, coping strategies, and resources relevant to women of color. • “A meeting of women of Color is an online group that meets once a month for all LGBTQ women of color in the Black, Indigenous, People of Color community.
